February is National Spay/Neuter Month and NAFA is working hard to complete our low cost spay/neuter clinic and highlight the need for progressive spay/neuter. NAFA is currently doing several events and fundraisers during the month of February to emphasize the need for our low cost spay/neuter clinic to be completed. Once completed this clinic will save the lives of thousands of unwanted animals and help Northeast Arkansas move closer to a “no-kill community”. All proceeds from the events and February fundraising will go directly to completing this much needed clinic. Please take a moment and see if one or more of these activities will interest you and help raise the much needed $5,700. For more information on what is needed and what services will be provided when the clinic is complete, email nafahelp@gmail.com.

February 11th – 7:30 to 11:30 (NAFA Animal ServicesBuilding – 233 N. Gee low cost vaccination clinic (to qualified individuals only). Everyone getting vaccinations will be entered into a $1.00 drawing for a FREE spay/neuter when the clinic is open.

February 11th –

Lotion samples are available.

February 18th by appointment only (email nafahelp@gmail.com)-$10 male cat neuter – nearly 60 male cats will be neutered. Conservatively speaking if a male cat only impregnates 4 cats a year and those cats
With the completion of our low cost spay/neuter clinic – these same amazing facts will apply to both male and female / dogs and cats. Donate to help make this happen.

February 25th 2:30 pm (PetCo in Jonesboro) –“Critter Fashion Show”, bring your pets in their finest frocks or dress them in one of our “Pets for Population Control” coats. The coats highlight a variety of spay/neuter slogans and statistics.

donating blood will receive free desserts and a special gift.

Also available at any of the above events NAFA is sponsoringa $10 special adoption. Your $10 donation will get you any onevof the special pets* that 1) Have been altered so there will be no offspring; 2) Have a lifetime vaccinations and heartworm preventative; 3) Have a lifetime supply of food and treats; 4)come with a leash, collar, bed and house. Normally these items would cost several thousand dollars but to highlight the need for spay/neuter and good homes, NAFA will be offering these special pets.

NAFA is looking for the persons who drove a Blue Ford SUV and dumped two shepherd mix puppies in Lawrence County on January 2nd. The dogs were rescued by a wonderful woman, who got partial plates on the vehicle. NAFA wishes to talk with the individuals, in hopes of working out the information to avoid prosecution. If you know anything about this case, please email wanndat@fastdata.net

NAFA has no shelter. The majority of our animals are kept in foster homes.
NAFA does have an Animal Services Building located at 233 N. Gee Street - red and white building on corner of Gee Street and Dan Avenue across from Riceland Foods. At this building we provide services such as our low cost vaccination clinics / low cost cat neuter / Animeals Food Bank / interium housing for animals moving from foster to vets or to adoption. By appointment only we also take in animals at this location. At this location you can also see our 40' trailer that is being converted into a spay/disaster trailer.
NAFA is one of the most active rescues in the State of Arkansas. We are staffed strictly by volunteers. We are funded by public donations. All donations go directly to the care of neglected, abandoned and abuse animals or to our community services programs.
