Recent work with the ice storm disaster and changes in our community have brought NAFA's Board of Directors to an exciting decision ... the opening of NAFA's Animal Services Building.
NAFA offers dozens of services to Northeast Arkansas residents. We have always had a large building used for storage of disaster supplies and items for our other services. We also had a converted office trailer that we used for our low cost shot clinic. And, in addition, NAFA has our 40 foot "A.R.K." which is being converted into a low cost spay/neuter unit.
But our Board has realized that NAFA needs a facility for a stronger prescence in the community. Therefore, we have just begun remodeling the old Ryan's Feed building on the corner of Gee Stree and Dan Avenue - 233 North Gee (across from Riceland Foods) to serve as our new headquarters.
While we are excited, we also realize that this will mean a lot of work. The building is old and needs lots of work. Through the end of March NAFA volunteers will spend weekends and evenings trying to remodel this building to be of service to Jonesboro and Northeast Arkansas.
